Frequently Asked Questions

  • Both options are great for indoor applications. Sharing characteristics, but also have differences in maintenance.

  • Yes and No. Depending on your selection, some granites need to be periodically sealed, while others do not need sealing at all. We will let you know what sealing schedule you should follow based upon your selection and do a 1 time courtesy sealing free of charge. This courtesy sealing does not mean we are responsible for any staining or liquid absorption.

  • No. While some quartzites are zero maintenance, others will need more attention than others. True quartzites are impenetrable,  mislabeled quartzites are really marble and will need more required sealing and attention. We can let you know, before purchasing, where your selection falls

  • Granite is heat resistant and can withstand having a pot or pan on them. Quartz is not and will void warranty if the quartz distributor determines that this guidance was not followed.

  • Granite will not be scratched by a standard knife's blade, while quartz will be scratched by cutting directly on the surface.

  • Yes, but it will not be an eyesore. Each seam color is hand mixed, in your home, to match the color of your new countertops. It is virtually impossible to make a glue line disappear between 2 pieces of rock.

  • Being located in Plainville CT, most of our jobs are in the surrounding area (Farmington, Avon, Bristol, Burlington, Southington, Hartford, East Hartford and Simsbury). But we have done work from Barkhamsted, all the way down to Old Lyme, do don’t be afraid to ask.

  • Rosania Stone Designs does not sell material, we are a fabricator of finished countertops. You will not receive any leftover material once the project is complete.

  • Yes and No. We do have some stones that are sold by a certain square foot pricing. Others are sold as a completed job. While these stones are not a fixed square foot price, we can tell you the square foot price once the final pricing has been determined

  • Rosania Stone Designs stands behind all of our work. While we will warranty fabrication and installation of your new tops, within a reasonable time period, we cannot warranty if there are issues with the actual stone itself.  Most quartz companies have their own warranties and any issues will be handled by the manufacturer of the raw material. Natural stones are created by nature and can not be warranted against any imperfections, although most can be repaired.

  • Don't believe everything you read. There are many myths and misconceptions when it comes to countertop materials online.  We have the knowledge and experience to answer any of your questions.
